Feeding Baby Stick Insects

I'm having issues. I have thousands of indian stick eggs and they've been hatching consistantly over the past month. I feed my adult sticks roses. I've notices that some of the babies are shedding and growing, but a good portion of them are dying.

I take the top of the roses so that there are both young and old leaves. I also gently mist the cage every 3 days.

I do not have access to bramble or ivey. I would prefer not to use romaine for fear of pesticides. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kelsey

Mist once everyday, and use older rose leaves. The new foilage of rose /bramble have more toxin in them to deter insects from feeding on them.

Try cutting the edges of the leaves off and it will start the little ones nibbling usually, it's what I do for my more fussy sticks and leaf insects.
