Feeding Amount?

Is the equivalent of 30 large crickets every other day too much for a 1 year old male veiled? Thanks

Yes, that's a lot too much.
It's even enough for a whole week or two.

He does love to eat. Sometimes when I go in some time later after I feed him he looks at the feeding tongs or whatever I'm using in his cage and loads up his tongue like he wants to eat it! So usually I'll put in some collards and he devours them. The store I got him from fed him 3 adult dubias every other day and he still looks skinny

Please take a look into this thread:https://www.chameleonforums.com/normal-85967/ I explained that it's absolutely normal if you saw your chameleon's hips, ribs or vertebrae. Chameleons don't have a fat tissue between skin and ribs. Your chameleon will always look "skinny". But this has nothing to do with his nutritional condition.

It's even normal for a chameleon to eat everything he gets. In nature, he has to do so because he never knows when there will be the next insects. There may be days or weeks without any food, so a chameleon will always take everything he's able to shoot at. In captivity we overfeed them easily due to this behaviour.

I understand that. But at some point I know they will eat this much and some (when reached full size) can possibly eat 50.
