Feeding a panther

Hi folks! New to the forum and new to the chameleon way of life! :D I just wanted to ask a question and get some input. I brought home a beautiful 3 month old male panther on Friday. The lil guy eats like a lil piggy!

Here are my questions/concerns:

1. At the shop he was housed with a female and they both ate from a clear cup. I can't seem to get him to eat from the cup.

2. I've placed crickets in a little plastic aquarium and turned him loose on them and he shows no interest.

As soon as I throw the crickets into his cage, he's on them like stink on sh*t! Just curious as to why he wont eat from the other two sources...that is all. Thanks in advance!

My Ambanja panther doesn't eat from the cup either it's just random my Tamatave lives of the cup watch my vids on YouTube "snipeusa14"

But I realy don't know why it's just random

Hunting helps with boredom, not you inparticular, chams in general. As long as you watch him eat dusted feeders within 15min, and what he doesn't eat you are able to remove daily, he might just like the intertainment!

P.S. welcome to the forums! Great people great info

i had my little guy cup feeding then he got bored of it and would not eat out of the cup anymore and they only way now he will eat for me is by hand feeding him i do it in the morning be for work and a few after work and my guy likes to hunt to the odd time lol

cup feeding

Cup feeding makes them lazy. My nosy be will take one from the cup but then wants me to dump the rest into his cage so he can hunt. He seems to like it that way. He will take worms from my hand but crickets only one then he wants to catch them himself. Your cham just wants that excitement of the hunt. If they don't have that life is boring.

Haha, my panther has started to do the same! He use to accept both crickets and superworms from cups but now he will only accept superworms from my hands and cups. The crickets he does not accept from my hands or a cup. He loves to hunt them around his cage though.
