Feeder order

Ok..I am getting ready to make a big feeder order. I want to try and start a dubia roach colony (still gotta get some feeding tongs cuz I am not touching a roach...) and I want silkworm eggs, crickets (gonna attempt to breed again) and BB Fly maggots. ( I want to be able to keep them in the fridge and use as needed). Both my veiled and bearded dragon love to catch flies so I want to be able to hatch a few flies at a time. Is there any place that carries all four or am I gonna have to order from several places. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Id also suggest some butter worms and black soldier flies. And if you have very well sealed cages, green banana roaches, you can get them from roachcrossing.

Thank you. Will be giving mantisplace.com a try. Oh, one type of roach is enough. I won't be able to take care of my babies if I had a heart attack if one got on me. lol I already had a nightmare about having dubia roaches that escaped and I had to catch them. lol Dubias and super worms are the reason I need feeding tongs. I can hold/catch almost any feeder but there is something about supers and roaches that give me the creeps.

Dubias are fairly easy to keep. Make sure you keep them warm. I just posted about my colony which I had neglected as late. They are amazing creatures. Even without food and water they survived! They ate some of the cardboard egg-crates and paper towel tubes and no doubt some deceased relatives! I don't like touching any of the bugs! I tried tongs but couldn't catch them so I just wear gloves. My son has no qualms about reaching in and grabbing them. When I get crickets I make them put them in a bag cause I don't even like looking at them.

I have discoids since I'm in Florida, and I can't touch them either. What I do is to take a small cricket keeper (or a feeding cup that's tall enough for them not to climb out), and place it without the lid inside the roach container. Because I keep egg crates in there, I just shake some into the cricket keeper and then put the lid on. I open the top, supplement as needed, and then use the cricket keeper (or feeder cup) to feed my cham. This way I'm not trying to use feeder tongs like Mr. Miaggi (no idea how to spell his name, but the Karate Kid guy), and I don't have to touch them. Just another idea for you. :D

OK.. I just ordered 500 BB Fly spikes, and 48 Butter worms from Mantis place and a Silkworm kit with 250 eggs, food etc. from Coastal Silkworms. mantisplace.com wanted too much for their Dubia Roaches. They wanted the same price, not including the shipping, I paid at my local mom and pop shop so I will just get some there.

I will now have Silkworms, Butter Worms, BB Flies, Super Worms, Crickets, and Dubia Roaches for my babies. I hope that I have enough variety now to keep them healthy and happy. I am still gonna try to breed crickets and Dubias. I have to have small crickets for my sons Fire Bellied Toads..:D
I can also get calci-worms (Phoenix) from my local pet store.

Thanks again everyone for your help and suggestions.

In Houston you should be able to breed your own Phoenix worms as well, as long as you have a tiny piece of land. They sell the contraptions online for about $300, and if you can keep the culture going you can have them nearly year round - I'm not sure how cold it gets there in the winter which is when I tend to have problems here. Go Texans!!! :D

Just received my order from Coastal Silkworms. I ordered a silkworm egg kit and I am excited to give hatching and raising silkworms a go. If anyone has any suggestions to help me be successful I am all ears.

Now I just have to wait for my Butter Worms and BB Fly Pupae which are supposed to arrive today as well. I lucked out because its been raining for two days and its not near as hot as it has been so I'm hoping the pupae won't hatch during delivery.

Thanks to all who have answered my questions. It makes me feel so much better knowing that I can get help when and if I need it. :D
