Feeder cup

What do yall use for a feeder cup for your cham. I currently cut a solo cup about half way so that way the crickets cant jump out and he can eat them out of it. Does anybody have any other suggestions, or will the solo cup be ok. My little guy is coming in on tuesday!

i know that some people use deli cups i like them cause they have a little lip on the top of them which makes it easier for them to hang from stuff.

another way is you can use one of those little sauce bowls and i use meal worms and super worms in the bowl and good idea on your's.:D

I use a green little plastic cup that's 4" long, 3" wide, and 3" tall. None of my feeders can get out of it, the crickets are even too stupid to jump. But I don't leave it in his cage, I hand feed him out of the cup.

I hope that one day he will let me hand feed him. I just dont want to try it the first week that he is here because of stress. But thank you all for the suggestions/reassurance!

Just make sure it's not a see-through Solo cup - and red probably wouldn't be a good idea. Don't know that from personal experience, but I would stick to white or green solid cups. I personally use a white cup that meal worms came in. I just punched 2 holes in the side and slid through a twist-tie which I use to tie onto his bend-a-vine. That makes it easy to remove and clean the cup between feedings.

Well he'll stay the same if you don't interact with him and show him you're the good guy! ;)

so should i try to hold him a few times within the week when i first get him?

Don't force him, but slowly introduce your hand and let him come on himself. Also just do the cup trick where you hold the cup with food in front of him and let him eat out of it. Or you could hold the food out of reach, extend your arm like a bridge, and he will crawl on it to get to his food. This is a stepping stone! :)

thank you so much for the advice!

I prefer using tubs or a milk carton with the side cut out and screen glued in. (Search milk carton feeder or something similar and you should get some threads about them.) I like tubs rather than cups because it allows the chameleons to hunt in a larger area but still allows you to keep an eye on food. Plus my chameleons seem to take to it faster.

I also recommend taking things slow and eventually using hand feeding to get him out. The hand-bridge thing works well after you gain his trust with food.
