Feedback on Enclosure (new owner)

Hi, I am a new chameleon owner and I adopted a one year old female chameleon from a couple who said they were unable to take care of her because of lack of knowledge and fear of her. Let's just say it seemed like a bad situation and I was happy to try to give her a better life. I am just looking for feedback on the enclosure I set up for her. I currently have one live plant and the rest is fake foliage and vines. I am using a 125w incandescent heat lamp though it seems I may need to upgrade as the basking zone isn't getting hot enough. I am using a long zoo med fixture with a repti 5.0 ubv bulb. I have a automatic mister running for 1 minute every 2 hours which I need to adjust as the humidity is hitting 45% between mistings. I have 2 thermometer/humidity meters in there and I just ordered a heat gun. I have a large pot on the bottom with sanitized top soil that I have the one live plant in. This is also acting as a nesting space for her. Just looking for feedback or suggestions if I am missing anything or need to change anything in general. I will try to get some better pics tonight. Thanks!

Hi again. :) I’m going to stick to this thread as I want to make sure all of your husbandry is correct. With our beautiful ladies, it’s more important than ever to help prevent egg laying issues. Let’s go over all of your husbandry and from there. Just copy/paste the following with your answers.

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
