Favorite chameleon?

I'm going to get a chameleon. But I'm still just browsing. I know there are like a gagillion types. Anyone recommend/like any type in particular? I know there is a bunch.
Just throw ideas at me!

I have a veiled, since it was the best starter chameleon, and most people think if you want to start with a chameleon you should go with a veiled, as they're the most forgiving if you screw something up. However, I think the most beautiful types of chameleons are the Ambilobes and Ambanjas I want to get one of those next.

I think the Jackson's are pretty neat looking. They look like little triceratops! But my vet said that Jacksons are probably one of the most difficult to take care of.

imo you should start with a veiled.

The care of veiled and panthers are similar, and they seem to be everyones first chameleons. Reading that should give you an idea of what kind of care is in store for chameleons, quite different from most reptiles in alot of ways, but more fun too!

I just got a juvenile panther not to long ago, and watching him grow and seeing his colors come out and flourish is a blast.

True, but I find that panthers are a little prettier And they tend to be a little more easy going in terms of personality. Now I'm generalizing this but I've got two panthers and they are both easy going (one a little more so then the other). lol. But every veiled I've come accross has been really aggressive. I dunno, not saying one is better then the other, but I'd go with a panther

If you are a first time owner i definately recoment a veiled, but if you are a well broken in cham owner i would say either a female carpet because they are soooo pretty! or a female Ankaramy, because i just ordered one and she is soooo precious and pretty!

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Not exactly the happiest of endings, but she is in some amazing hands. I really hope that all new owners can sit down and just read over a few blogs like I did before getting started.

About 20 minutes worth of reading kitty blog and a few other resources and I gained the knowledge to save a life and make another flourish. It shows that a small time investment can really pay off for these animals. I wish every story could end the way mine did.

Yeah. Those blogs and the advice from this forum saved my chams life. Im so glad for this place!

Defishy is kind of right on the aggressive thing. Fred's a butthead most of the time but he doesn't bite he just hisses until you get him on your hands. I've seen some serious aggressive panthers though, and they're big-uns and if they bite it might get serious. lol
