Fatal Attractions?

Anyone seen this show on Discovery? The one on the other night was about people that own big cats and end up getting killed by them. I'm watching the one about reptiles now. A guy supposedly gets eaten by his 7 monitors living in his apartment. Haven't finished it yet, but this show is pretty addicting.

yeah i watched clips from several eppisodes on the website.....I have a savannah monitor...they could be as addicting as chams...the best monitor i think...

Savannah Monitors are very cool. I'd always wanted one as a kid. I never owned one personally but I once helped catch one that was let loose in the neighborhood. It was about three feet long. I'm not surprised by the big cat deaths and the chimp deaths but a Nile Monitor?? I mean, they're not Komodo Dragons. I'm anxiously awaiting to see how this guys animals killed him

There was a news story years back about a guy who died of non-lizard related cause and then his monitors ate some of his already dead body. Maybe this is the guy featured on the show. I doubt monitors would be able to take down and kill a guy before he spooked them and got out of there. Then again- I think people treat big snakes like they have more going on upstairs than they should (taking a nap with a burmese python because it "loves" you is not recommended)... Maybe I've got a blind spot when it comes to big lizards... LOL
:)

They said he died from an infected bite from his monitors or something. I think a lady who keeps venomous snakes comes on and they say something about how you can mail order them... It sounds like he's saying it dangerous to mail order reptiles...

Yeah, it sounded like they said it was an infected bite and then he died. That sounds hard to believe. You think he would have had plenty of time to get out of there before just dying on the floor.

Haha, that's what I was thinkng... If my hand even looked the slghtest bit infected and I had a fever/was gettng dizzy (with a wound as big as they showed on his thumb) I'd be outta there and on my way to my doctor. I can't imagine that he wouldn't have noticed the infection in his wound... Unless he really was 'crazy.' but I watch too many medical shows so.... :D

Apparently that guy didn't want to leave his lizards home alone while he was treated at the hospital because they would have died without his care or something dumb like that. I'm sure nile monitors go without food and water for longer periods in the wild..
