fan pointed at exo terra

is it okay to have a fan pointed directly at the face/front vents on the exo terra? i'm temporarily keeping it in my bedroom, and its very warm up here. the temperature is usually around 82 but with the fan blowing directly at it, i can get the bottom of the cage at about 72 and the top 76 (no heat bulb going since its hot up here).

i would also like to point out that i have no cham yet. i just have the cage fully set up to see if i can keep the plants alive first.

Well it depends on what type and age of cham you get. 76 will be cool for most veileds or panthers. I would think tho as long as the leaves and stuff in the terarrium are not moving due to the fan than it is only circulating the air and fine.

I'm sure there will be other posts here, but I suspect that you will have humidity issues (not being able to maintain higher humidity) if you have a fan blowing into your enclosure.

You mantioned temps, but did not mention humidity. Once you add your live plants and start misting or hand spraying, (even without your Cham added yet) you'll need to look at temp drop and humidity spikes.

Different Cham species need different temps and humidities. You'll have to tweak your enclosure accordingly.

sorry, i forgot humidity. with it being exo terra, i haven't seen any humidity issues. before the fan, i would spray it down once for about a minute at approx 9 am (lights come on at 8 30). it would get to 88-92% and then drop progressively to about 45% by lights out. i have a hoya and schefflera in there already by the way. there's also a towel in the bottom that i switch out daily (i rotate them so i dont have sitting water).

but im aware that 76 is too cold. i was struggling with it in my room since the ambient temperature was basking levels for a baby (or so i've read on here). it was hovering around 82ish on some days here. so thats why i've kept the heat light off. but with the fan going i think i should be able to turn it on.

here's the change i've noticed yesterday keeping the fan on max all day pointed directly at the vents. temps were about 8 degrees colder on average, and the humidity plummeted. where as before i needed to mist only once, the humidity got to 40% by 1 pm and it needed a second misting. and no, the leaves are not moving. the fan is to see if i can get some sort of temperature gradient in the cage, as well as keeping the overall temperature down. it seems to be working a lot better than i expected. it also seems to be drying the towel at the bottom a bit more thoroughly, to the point where its just barely damp.
