falls asleep while handling

monty closes his eyes when i handle him recently.

is he trying to play dead? i know he hates handling so i always try to be really gentle and go under him and keep him around eye level or higher, but he always closes his eyes

if he is on a stick I am carrying, he'll lighten up, then go ON my hand (by his will) and then get scared? if he were scared, why would he go on my hand?

I don't understand.

And what if he started to like you? Does it happen before his bedtime perhaps?
Because when I handle mine before his bedtime he often falls asleep on my head or hand.

it was like 4:00, kind of not near bed time but when he's in his free range (and I have to get him back to cage) he doesn't bask so he is cold. I only keep him out for around 20 minutes at a time before putting him back to bask, so he might have just been cold

I'm pretty sure they like us being so warm! I thought about that too!They cool down and when they feel the warmth, it feels just good. But I'm might wrong.
