Fake plants for Enclosure - Why no jungle foilage?

I know Chams typically live in forests and just about everyone sells plants that fit a "forest type" theme. But I have always been fascinated by rain forests and jungle plants, foliage and such.

I would love know if anyone sells or knows a place to get appropriately themes wood, plants etc?

(Think Da-Bo-Bah with lots of twisty branches and fine leafed hanging foliage...:D)

If you have a veiled I wouldn't use fake plants at all. There are twisty vines available but those are horrible for chameleon feet in general.

Care to elaborate on this? I know real plants are better in general, but fake plants bad?

Are you also saying that twisty sticks and branches are also bad for Cham feet?

Unfortunately, I do not have any Chams right now. But I'm finding the forum very therapeutic with helping me move on without them.

I have heard a lot about veiled chameleons trying to eat fake plants and getting impactions. Kind of like iguanas. Only certian types of fake vines are bad. Usually if you have only exoterra and flukers fake twistable vines they can cause problems with sores on the feet because they are extremely hard to get completely clean.

That's interesting, never heard of them eating fake plants. Mine never noticed them.

I'm just not good with plants, so the chances are if it's not fake, all he will have are sticks in his terrarium. ☺

If you are keeping live plants inside a chameleon enclosure it's always best to do so with a plant grow light, or else most die.
