Fake plants and real plants question

Is having real plants in the enclosure really a must have / required or is it just beneficial because I have all fake plants with a veiled chameleon and when I look stuff up about it most of it just says it could be dangerous because they’re likely to may take a bite out of it but my chameleon seems to be just fine not trying to eat them, so the question is am I required to have real plants in my chameleon enclosure for him to live a healthy life?

You’re risking impaction you’re veild Will try to chew on those plastic plants yes it’s very important that you use real plants it also helps with humidity

I also have a veiled, she didn’t start eating her plants until about six months ago and she has completely destroyed some to the point where I had to pull them out of her enclosure and replace them. I would highly recommend life plants.

Besides everything that has been mentioned... I think of it this way would you rather sleep on plastic sheets or cotton sheets? Plastic just is not natural for them. Not only does it do nothing for helping with humidity or cleaning the air but it is an un natural surface for them to deal with. Most Veileds will start actively eating their plants by the time they hit 5-6 months old. Due to this we use veiled tested plants so they are proven safe for them to eat. And we do not add fake due to the impaction risk which can kill them.

I see, well mine is around 7-8 months old and since I’ve gotten him I haven’t seen him trying to eat them but do I need to like get the real plants ASAP or no, and also idk how I’m supposed to add the plants around the enclosure with the screened cage because with the fake plants sum of them im able to just stick the plastic through the screen and the leaves will just hang down but idk how I would set up my enclosure with real plants, I’ve gotten one pothos plant so far but the rest are fake.

I love the dragon strand ledges found on the dragon strand website and have these in my panthers enclosure

For my veiled I wrapped her enclosure with corrugated plastic (found at Home Depot) and was able use that plastic to hang plants around her enclosure.
