I just had a baby hatch from two CH parents. laid on 11/24/2008 hatched today. Incubation was
6 months, 14 days:eek:

Parents were from Jim @ The Chameleon Company. Mother died from being eggbound, but I still have the father.

I kept this particular set in my closet , range between 68f(first 4 months) to 74f. It climbed after the first 4 months slowly to about 74.

Here are some pics

Wow! That's got to be the shortest incubation I've ever heard of for carpets! Absolutely amazing! Congrats, of course!

Thanks

I was checking my panther eggs wasn't even going to look into the tub. I saw him posted on the side of the tub trying to climb out. I was shocked.

I bet! Do the other eggs look just as big as the one that hatched did?

There is only one other egg from this mother. But it looks exactly like the other did a few days ago.

I do have another clutch from another pair from Cham Co that is about 5.5 months in. They are just as big as the two that were from Miss Piggy.

I am so glad you at lease have the one and hopefully 2 babies. The mother was beautiful in the mating picture, congrats.

Thanks laurie, I just love a happy ending to such a sad story. I was really hopeful but didn't imagine it would be this soon.

Thanks for the kind words everyone

I am so happy for you and jealous at the same time,,,ONLY 6 months, no fair! :p

Congrats !

Answered your PM before I saw the thread, so I found my answer. In our experience, carpets do not hatch in the "all at once" manner of other species, or at least we have had no luck replicating that result. Hatch over the course of several weeks has been our experience, although in a clutch of 12-15, there have been days where 2-3 hatched in the same day. They grow fast :) Good job.

Excellent! Great Job Ryan.

Like Jim said, I've had similar spread out experiences. I had a clutch that started hatching at 10 months and finished at 15 months! The oldest was fully grown with hatchling siblings.

How rewarding!

How rewarding to see that little one. He/she is giving you the "stink eye" in one picture. I love the picture of the pair together. Thanks for sharing that tiny one with us :)
