i have a gravid female i bred her 1 week before christmas , when would u think i should add her lay bin, whats the aprox time to lay after mating ?? i checked all other resources and im hearing alot of diff times... Thanks

I would put a laying container in there now.

They usually lay about 30 days after being mated....but it depends where they are in the cycle. It can happen earlier.

one more thing play sand is fine i cant use verminculite?

Use play sand, or sand and organic soil. Make it moist enough that you can dig a tunnel in it without it collapsing. You can leave one or two of your test holes, she might use one. Dont use vermiculite your female could end up swallowing it while digging, which would probably cause impaction. Plus it is a mess when its wet and she would be covered in it for days.
