Extremely Eager to eat..

Alright so I feed Isabella twice a day once about an hour or so after she wakes up and then at 3 before I go to work. I would say eat feeding she gets around 12-15 1/2 crickets because I have yet to order my next bulb order of crickets in which I am stepping up a size. Anyway she like sprints to her feeder every time I feed her :D I mean like if there was a brick wall in her way it wouldn't stop her. But this is a good thing right?

Thanks everyone,

Ben

At some point you hold back feeding to reduce clutch size, correct? How old is she now? Eating is always good! ;)

Yeah of course but 1/2 inch crickets are tiny lol well most of them are. Yeah I worry about that but as far as I see it she is getting like a combined food total of probably 10 medium sized crickets a day between two feedings. LOL I know but she is a little piggy :D

Oh yeah and she is around 5 months :)

Very good thing, I think female Veileds in general have very healthy appetites - have you seen my Jasmine try to eat me? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aKcWW3GnUM&list=UUAfRQzxDvwxAghCmLyLhopw&index=2&feature=plcp
You will want to pretty much halve the food intake soon (but you won't be able to resist giving her an extra treat every now and again). I recommend starting to cut down now so it's not too much of a shock to her......

at 5 months she is still young and growing
Give her as much as she can gobble up in about 5 minutes, up to twice a day. (hopefully you are offering more than just crickets?) if that's a total of 20 smallish crickets, I wouldnt worry.
as she gets towards 7 months+ reduce to once a day feeding (or twice daily but less quantity per time). As she reaches a year, she'll only need 0-3 bugs a day (the zero indicating that its not necessary to feed every day)

Yep, she gets a Dubia every other day, superworms, not very often but she gets waxies, and on friday I am getting her Silkies along with possibly phoenix worms :)
