Exoterra Modification Question

I have a 3 month old male veiled that is currently living in an 18 x 18 x 24 exoterra. My boyfriend and I have been considering modifying that enclosure as opposed to buying a whole new enclosure. We are thinking about adding another 2 or 3 feet in height with screen that we can construct ourselves. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

It might be less trouble to just purchase a new terrarium - those exo terras aren't cheap!

I'd just build a new one or buy a new one. You can keep a gecko or frog or some pygmies in there! :)

Yeah by the time you do the mods it will be just as much to buy a creen cage most likely. I say buy a new cage and you can get pymies or frogs or something to keep in it.

I would add the two feet of screen cage, i did! All my cages were something else at one point. You'll spend 18.00 at lowes verses 100.00 for a new setup...window sreen frames, screen spline, and screen.See my post in the discution forum Advice if any?.?...that cage was a 20 g tank added a top and a door and presto Chameleon paradise...

A 20 gallon tank(~$20) versus a $100+ cage... I'm not seeing where it is cheaper in this specific case.

Since it's male, 18x18 may be too small in the long run so I would just build/buy your own. It's fairly easy to do as long as you plan it out before hand. there are even tutorials on here for them.

Try reading it again...Screen cage on top...20g + 20g= ??????$40g....Do ya see it know?
I think you need to reread my post as well.

Your 20G (the $20 mentioned) plus conversion -or- their exo terra (the $100 mentioned) plus conversion.
