Exo Terra Digital Hygrometer and Thermometer Combo (w/ Probe)

Working on setting up my first cham enclosure and I am using the ExoTerra Thermometer and Hygrometer Digital combo meter. How accurate are these things?

The reason i ask is because i have another generic Digital Hygrometer and Thermometer that's placed a couple feet away from the cage, it shows the ambient temp and humidity of my room. The temperature difference between my ambient device and the ExxoTera is maybe 2-3 degrees but when it comes to humidity, my generic digital meter shows it as 42%, where as the ExxoTerra meter in the screen cage shows the Humidity at 70%.

Is such a big difference normal or are these meters crappy at giving accurate readings?

I also have a handheld temp gun which shows that the temp readings of the Exxoterra are decently accurate

(The screen cage at this time has no sides covered and just had a few vines (fake, bendable) that i have attached. Since i am still furnishing the cage, its on the floor in the middle of the room and has no specific heat or misting source.)

Humidity meters (im sure someone is rolling in his grave) are never very accurate at the hobby level. If you can get 2 meters to be within 10% of each other you are doing good. Temp probes on the other hand are normally accurate within 1-2 degrees.

If you really want to know, i would try to barrow a fluke 971 or a something from extech. The fluke runs like $250 and the extech stuff runs $75 to $$$
