I don't see anyone else mentioning it and it's the quarter finals already :D. Just to let everyone know England have topped their group and play Italy on Sunday. Had to get it posted up before we crash out on penalties again.........it's all going pretty well so far though - this could be our year.........
Anyone got anything to say about what a great tournament it's been so far? Not a single 0-0 draw!
 
Don't speak too son, is all I can say, lol! This is the England team remember - we never do well at anything! :rolleyes: I am not really interested, probably because it's all my OH thinks about - he lives for football. Ugh!

Ha, don't believe the press in this country - England often do better than they really should (in terms of results at least). Haven't had such a decent set of performances since about Euro '96. It's very hard to win a knockout international tournament - I admit we have a terrible record in penalty shootouts. Sundays game will be tight I reckon and I can't stop worrying about the penalties :eek:

I know, I thought Poland would do better this time - they didn't embarrass themselves though. At least they did better than Holland :D

Na Germans have got this tornament won an it's been the best tornament I've seen in a while, world cup two years ago where the worst

Will be drunk tomorrow night whatever the score - a friend of mine bet £10 on Germany to 4-2 against Greece and won £660. Drinks are on him!

World cup wasn't at all great.......... I still can't believe the USA came ahead of us in the group :eek:
Argentina looked good for a while though and Spain were really good, right? Made us all believe again?
I was sure Argentina were going to win that one until Germany annihilated them. Germany surely are due a tournament victory soon, but I reckon we might beat them on penalties this time........oh, did I mention I'd had a few beers tonight already? :D
 
Hey David, how are you coping with the loss? There is always next time dude. Now great football at its best with Spain - Portugal (or should I say Barcelona - Real Madrid? :D )and Italy - Germany. I bet the final will be Spain - Germany with Spain coming on top (3-2).

I woke up 5 mins ago and I'm sure I'm more drunk now than when I went to bed :D.........stupid penalties........again.........why is there always next time? We'll only go and lose on penalties again:rolleyes:
Lol, at least it was a good game (how did it finish 0-0 with all those chances?) and we didn't embarrass ourselves. Didn't really deserve to win it either so I'm not too upset really :)
Good predictions for those last games, I would like to see 5 goals in the final but after how boring Spain were last game I doubt it'll be that high scoring.

The game will suck.. Italy is the most defensive team ever and spain has no forwards (Torrea doesnt count, he is just an extra player to fill the slot). The only way the game can be good is if Italy manage to actually attack and Del Bosque lets Llorente play.. Then it'll be a fun game.

Anyways, Hala España!

Lol, thanks....and sorry you got demolished by Spain ;) A very valiant and commendable performance, but Spain were a different class today.
Wow, shows how wrong I was :D.
Super Spain really turned on the style to get a record-breaking 4-0 win. You wait ages for a title and then three come along at once.......
Now I'm starting to think there's always next time for England - maybe Rooney will turn up fit, unbanned and on form.
Until then Spain rule the world, congratulations :)

Dude, Rooney can't carry a team no matter how fit he gets! Spain is a super power in soccer and can't really think of a team that would give them a hard time to beat. By now they are getting used to wining and celebrating victories.

Lol, we don't need him to carry a team entirely by himself. A really good tournament isn't too much to ask though.......it's not always the best team who wins the cup, there's always a chance for us :D
