Enjoying the sun?

So I take Mochi, a 4 month old panther chameleon, in the sun about 2 to 3 times a week. And this is how he usually looks, he flattens his body and turns a darker shade. I’m assuming he’s enjoying the sun since he would stay in my hand and not move for a while. Is this normal?

Where did he go all i see is a tattoo! Jk. Dark colors can be stressed or absorbing heat...so hard to tell.

I would say so, I take mine out every day for a few hours, and he makes himself flat as a piece of paper and makes himself almost horizontal to the ground to absorb the heat.
