Enclosure size

How big does an enclosure have to be to house two jackson chameleon's together? One's a 10 month old female, and the other (soon to be) 1 month old male jackon have to be?'
And would it be best to keep the little one separate until he gets older? If so how old?

It would be best for the both of the to house them separately for their lives. Unless housing them for short periods at a time for breeding purposes. It would cause too much stress on the both of them to be housed together permanently.

At least a 18x18x36 for the female, and a small cage for the little guy

I think the cage would have to be VERY big, like 4'x2'x6'. So that they couldnt find eachother at times. But you would still risk over breeding and fighting. Some members have housed chams together successfully, but its not common. You have to monitor them closely to watch for stress.

The cage I'm thinking about building would be approx. 7-8 feet long, 2.5-3 feet deep and 6 feet tall. And i would put a spot so a divider could be put in to separate them if need be. Would that be a plausible cage design?

Yes that size would be nice. A divider would be a good idea with the 10 month old having more space. You could do equal space, as long as your little one is able to find his food ok. Cup feeding would be good. And seriously, a big jackson's can eat a little one or atleast try!

You could make a huge cage with a divider yes. Having them housed together, I would be worried about the adult constantly searching for the male, and trying to run it off, with no where to go.
I would also be worried about the male bothering the female in the same manner when it gets older.

What would be the best building material for a cage this size? I could use wood as my current cage is wood. I would have to seal/stain it to keep it from rotting. I've looked into metal cages but not exactly sure how I would go about it. Any tips?

or u could use latex pain if u want it some color.
with letal cage, get 6 window screen / frames pre drill screws in the sides like u would with wood and use metal grade screws. let me wake up some and i can take pics of my lil metal one.
