Hey everyone, my female Nosy Be just turned 6 months old and I was thinking about building her a bigger cage. She is currently in a 18Dx18Wx36H Did not want to build her something that might be too big. Just wanted some opinions on sizes. I was thinking about building one 48WX20DX48T Is that excessive? Otherwise I might just get her a DYI 24WX24DX48T Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!

i keep my females in 18x18x36 cages but bigger isn't necessarily a bad thing. just make sure it's not too big for her size now or else she'll have a hard time fiinding her food.

My female panthers are housed in cages that are 2 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and 4 feet high. They make very good use of the entire space. This size also allows you to place a reasonable laying bin into the cage as needed (rather than moving/stressing her when she is gravid and already in a bad mood!)

I always prefer to go for the same size cages as my males too. As above it allows for a nice sized laying bin that can be in the cage all the time. I also find they use every bit of space as well and find no difference in activity between males and females just their size that is different.

Hmmm, okay. So I am thinking a 2X2X4 will be good. As mentioned, that was my other concern, I wanted to go bigger so I could comfortably fit a laying bin in there for when she finally gets ready for her first egg lay.
Thanks!
