I was curious if any of you have ever used enclosures that were shaped differently than the average rectangle cage? I plan to build a couple of terrariums soon and have been drawing out different options that I think would look nice and possibly be more convenient. I haven't seen any alternate designs so I'd like some opinions on if any of these would be better for a chameleon or if it wouldn't effect it at all. Have any of you owned/built/seen screen cages similar to these?
Anyway, here are some quick sketches of what I had in mind. I shaded the base and the top to create some depth and the inside floor is shaded with "pebbles".
I like the idea of a cornered cage. The pentagon would have 2 walls against the walls of your room and 3 open faced walls. The trapezoid is also cool because it would have the 3 open faces. Octagon is also possible.
The triangle could be cornered or flat against a wall but isn't space efficient. A diamond however could be cornered for a nice look. Then you have the "pizza" shaped triangle with a single rounded front face. Just think about having a room with a cage fitted into both corners of a wall or in all 4 corners of the room. It would look bad ***.
