So I used to love reptiles and Chameleons were my favorite! I freaked out the first time I saw a true chameleon in a pet shop and would not leave until my friend's mom bought one (she was paid back of course). It looked like a younger Senegal Chameleon but never got that big. I had him/her? for about 4 years.

Anyway, 18 years later (29 now) the GF and I decided to get her son a pet. We started looking at king/milk snakes (always loved snakes that looked like coral snakes!), but when we checked out a different local reptile store and saw a full grown Veiled, Panther and Meller's, I just had to have one... he had to have one ;) ! And it was not easy, but we convinced her son a Chameleon was a better choice than a snake. My first choice would have a Meller's (they just look so big and sad), and I love the Panther's colors, but I figured if it was going to be PART his responsibility, a Veiled was best... Though I fall more in love with Mellers with every photo I see!

Anyway, We got the most relaxed looking male we could find. Sometimes he puffs up a bit when we reach for him in his cage, but he is fine once we get him out.

So although most nights we let him sleep peacefully, I just had to get him out tonight while I was working on my tune for my car and he fell asleep on the computer... first time he has slept out of his cage.

So then I found this site and decided I needed a female too :) This is Priscilla. She looks a bit thin in the photo, but she eats a ton!!!

Damn! I still need to find out how to post pics correctly! If anyone knows, please share! I checked online, but obviously fail ensued :(

Thanks to Robmd, full pics now!

I will add more pics as they grow.

Thanks! I've read multiple chameleon care guides: raising kitty something something something, JannBs and one from chameleons northwest (Where I got the female). It does help that I used to be a reptile nerd too and have always been aware that raising a Chameleon is not the same as an Iguana ;)

I should probably fill out one of those care sheets you guys have too, just to be sure.

nice chams. i see you use photobucket all i do is copy an pste the img code to your post.

sorry i couldnt resist
as for smaller pics i still havent figured that one out

lol robmd. Good call. Sadly, there is no way my GF will let me get a third for a long time!

Looks like your way works... I tried the ways recommended for Craig's List, which were the other two options. I will edit OP.

Thanks!

...yeah, I have a Mazdaspeed3... I didn't think I'd actually be on this forum that much, so I was too lazy to think of a name that was different from the one I use for the mazda forum... Of course like the Mazda forum, I spend way too much time on here now too!

My "chameleon addiction" also began when I bought my teenage son a chameleon a couple years ago.... He quickly lost interest as he started meeting more girls at school! And I took over the chameleon duty and was HOOKED before I knew it. Your pics are adorable!! Enjoy!!

if u do use photobucket, then hover over the uploaded image where ud get the links, and theres an option "Edit" in there you can resize and shrink it :p

nice chameleons!

Welcome to the forums. I also keep veileds and they are such a pleasure to care for. Mine all free range and are very friendly. Be sure to check put both of my blogs. I have one for general care and one for egg laying and the laying bin. Females can and often do lay eggs some starting as early as 5 months depending on the food intake and the heat. Also sometimes just the sight of a male can cause the female to start an infertile clutch. I'm sure you'll do well with your guys and any questions just ask. Jann

Yah Jann, I've seen your videos and I've got my fingers crossed that mine end up even half as friendly as your's... And your blogs are packed w great info!

And although I doubt the GF will let me free range them 24/7, she actually recommended getting a tree for the living room so they could be around us more often!

I'll check out the video Dave. I appreciate any and all good advice!

And before I can breed them, I also have to convince the GF (though that is the point of having a male and female). If I wasn't going to breed I'd probably have to different kinds of Chameleons instead, right? ;)

But more importantly, although it will be tough, I do plan on waiting the full year, even if she shows signs that she is physically ready to breed before then... of course I will make sure to put something in her cage so she can deal with infertile eggs before that.

Cool, mate - you're in the right place for any good advice anyway - there are vets and zookeepers knocking around on these forums (as well as commercial Chameleon breeders........)

I see you are using Access Tuner Race. I have a MazdaSpeed3 myself. I go to the mazda meets all the time. I'm Andrew Shap!

Well too bad you got banned! idk how banning works here, but if you get unbanned, which mazda forum are you on (send me a PM so we don't go too off topic on here)? Probably not the best, MSF, or else you would know that the proper spelling of "meet" is actually "meat". As in, "I go to Mazda MEATS all of the time".

Im in MO, you are not by chance in the midwest are you?

Nice to see another car guy that likes chameleons!

Since I'm obsessed, I will probably add lots of random pics to this thread, so here is one of The King chillin on my Meyer Lemon Tree... which doesn't ever produce lemons :(

Anyway, he looks super turquoise! And, does every chameleon hate cameras lol? He is completely cool even when I take him inside, but the second the camera comes out, pow! he starts puffing up.
