electrical ballast?

I'm looking at buying yoda a new t5 light (as his is improper and the one I tried to buy never arrived) and in the description it says that the fixture doesn't come with an electrical ballast. is that important for the fixture to work or should I not even worry about that?

Any fluorescent bulb and fixture needs a ballast to work. Most fixtures have the ballast build in, so if it doesn't have one, I would look for a different fixture.

This is my goto for balast replacement.

This guy will handle 2 4 footers just fine. But i have no clue what you bought.
