Eggs infertile

Hi so I have a 3 month chameleon egg it glows yellow with one little red dot the size of like a pen tip with no veins is this fertile what should 3 month old chameleon eggs look like.

You can kind of see the red think this egg is three months old by he way do you think it’s fertile.

Can you take a photo of it laying on the incubation medium substrate please.
What temperature are you incubating it at and on what medium/substrate? In the dark or the light?

Its a veiled chameleon I am incubating it at 70-71. It’s in vermiculite in the dark.

Do you get beads of moisture on the sides or lid of the container?
Don't take the lid off too often or for too long when you check on it...it messes up the humidity etc in the container.

Is the egg growing at all?
I'd leave it incubating for now...it doesn't look bad yet.

No the egg has not yet grown and yes it does get moisture so would you say this is fine for 3 months I was only worried it stopped developing because it’s hatch day is April 8th

At that temperature I would be surprised if it would hatch that soon if it's 3 months old now.

So it would probably hatch closer to ten months then so that very tiny red dot is normal. Ok thanks

I always incubated mine at 73F to 75F and they usually hatched at 8 months...but I also had a setup where the temperature could vary a bit with the house temperature...it's not an exact science.

I would think if it werent fertile it would have molded over at like 2 weeks...so if it is already 3 months old I'd say its fertile.

Cool that you are candling your egg but make sure it stays in the same position or its less likely to hatch

(a tip ) mark the top of your egg with a Permanent marker gently
