Eggs Everywhere!!!

Went in to check on the chams before bedtime last night and found Ms. Audrey halfway up her hibiscus tree pushing out eggs???? There were eggs all over her cage. I had set up a bucket for her over a week ago because she was getting huge. She and Guido mated on July 19th. Her bucket had eggs scattered all over the top. Her hibiscus pot had eggs all over the top and there were a few on the bottom of the cage, and she was steady laying more eggs. Never saw her go to the bottom to try to bury any of them. I just finished gathering them all up and putting them in vermiculite. There were 43 eggs total! WOW! She is now eating and drinking with a vengence! All the eggs look good right now. Also, I found a baby crested in my tank this morning too! Cute as a bug!! Not sure if there are any more, but will be watching!

WOW, what a mess to clean up. At least its a good mess.

I have girls do this every once in a while. I guess they just decide its time and say forget the digging. :D

and a baby crested. How cool! You just keep the eggs in the enclosure with the cresteds? Thats awesome.

Congrats!

Ryan, I never even knew there were eggs in the tank with the cresteds - I has probably been a month or so since I did a complete tank cleaning and I never saw eggs? Still watching to see if I can spot another baby! Hey, does anyone know the incubation time for Oustalet eggs??

Congrats on all the eggs! Thats a ton. Did she try to bury them, or did she just start scattering them as you said?

Hahaha, that'll be Titan soon....we're going to start setting up for a lady, I hope to get her in a few months, we just want to see how our plan if a hurricane should come works out before we get another.
