Eggcrate Question?

I feel kind of dumb asking this seeing as everyone seems to have them and the answer is probably right under my nose, but where do you guys get the cardboard-looking egg crates for your insect bins?

I see them at the reptile show. But I would recommend tubes I have ways better luck with them and I've been bringing them to shows to sell now and they've been picking up way easier to dispense those guys

Do you have to buy them at the shows? I havn't been to a reptile show in years sadly..

And tubes? Like paper towel tubes? Where can I get them in bulk, cause God knows I try to be eco-friendly and not go through them fast haha

Hi
Ghanns, one of the site sponsors has egg crates available. I use crates for my roaches and old tp or paper towel tubes for the crickets :)

Moved. :) I stock up on paper towel and toilet paper rolls around the house. If you don't keep a ton of crickets at a time cut the tubes into a few smaller pieces to make them last longer. If you order crickets online they usually come with egg crates in the box so I save all those too.

Thanks for moving lol I dunno why I did that.

I'll be ordering in bulk, probably from Ghanns so I can tack on some extra egg crate to have on hand too. Not looking to breed because that seems like it's a pain! lol

I've heard a few people talking about some magic poo-eating beetle. What are they and can someone direct me to a few good links to research?

They're probably talking about the ones that often come in the cricket boxes with them as hitchhikers. They're not that magical so don't get your hopes up that they'll keep your cricket bin clean. ;)

You can get flats of egg crates/cartons at any feed and tack mill store. They will have them because most stores raise baby chicks and need lots on hand for eggs! :) I buy them for 25 cents a flat.

Haha I have nooooo idea where I would find one of those! I'm an inner-city college student. lol Thanks for the suggestion though!

i purchased a large box from LLLReptiles cheep and have more then I will use in the next year and i am breeding thousands of crickets in a month!! I think it cost me 38.00 inc shipping for what i purchased.

I have about a million egg crates. Send me a pm with your address and I will check shipping some to you. How many do you want? I can do 50 for $5 + shipping. Will that work for you? Not trying to make money, just helping out.
