I am just so darned excited it is hard sitting still and writing this, but i want everyone to know that there is always hope. I don't remember ever hearing anyone say that they had an eggbound female lay their eggs and then live and that is why i wanted to share this. Iknow i might be premature in saying this, but considering she finally laid her last 3 eggs today, then went to the top of her cage and drank, and then to my surprise quickly gulped up a big old hornworm nicely coated with calcium, i think it looks really good. Thanks to everyone who has helped us through these last 3 weeks. Can you believe that? 3 weeks of laying eggs!!!WOW.She can have as many hornworms as that little girl wants.... So if you get a female that is eggbound, it can have a good ending. Do you know i have been somewhat force feeding her with an eyedropper and that yucky bug juice and she actually gained 2 grams in the last few days. Between that, the 4 vet visits, and everyone's advice I think she will make it. The eggs however did not. It seems all of them are not going to be any good. We still have the first 7 she laid but they don't look very good either. But that's ok, she is still with us and that is what is important. Thanks again everyone for all the help.!!!!!! If anyone wants to read from the start, there was actually 4 threads posted starting on 2-2 "Help, Extremely dehydrated gravid panther! , then "Eggbound female "- 02-03, then "HELP!!Desperate, laying eggs for 10 days and still has some." that i posted in the breeding section, and last was " I need some advice".
Thanks again to everyone who piped in and helped us through these last 3 weeks. Debby
