Some info for new veiled chameleon owners, my little gal is about 7 mnths now, last week she totally shut down from eating, became very clumbsy, and slept during the day, sometimes on the bottom of her cage on her side, she would take water right out of the nozzle but would not eat, yesterday she layed over 60 eggs in the bottom of her home, covered them with dirt and leaves she pulled off plants took about 7 hours, poppped up to her regular stick, drank and ate crickets and worms,, today is tottally back to normal. just a few signs to look for if you think she is ready to lay,,good luck!! I thought she was dying,, put pot of dirt in and she never used it. just scratched at the sides of her cage, like she wanted out, they say they can die if they don't have proper laying conditions, but mine had perfects conditions, and chose not to use them, she preferred leaves over dirt to cover them
