egg laying

Help my chameleon is ready to lay eggs so i have put a big bucket in the tank with sand in it and she wont go near it shes al over the floor looking for some where to lay and i am scared she will become egg bound is their any thing else i can do ?

The little girls can be stubborn. Try putting her in a large trashcan like the one linked in my blog.

Its a big bucket ive got filled half way with play sand will i keep her in it so she cant get out till she lays ?

Make sure the amount of sand is around 12" deep as she may want to dig to the bottom and you don't want her to dig further than necessary.

I wouldn't keep her in the bucket for more than a day if she is not digging. If she is in there all day and doesn't dig, I would place her back in her cage for a day to dehydrate and eat if she is still eating, and then try again for another day till she starts to dig and lay.
