Egg Issue

My veiled chameleon dug all day yesterday to lay her eggs, and then she turned around like she was laying them. This morning, everything was covered up and she was basking like normal. The issue is that there are no eggs to be found, and she is still very pregnant looking. We are preparing a bigger bucket for her just in case she wasn't satisfied with her smaller one. Am I doing this right? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

She's a beautiful girl. When they start to dig they need complete privacy to lay the eggs. If they see you looking they can abandon the hole and become egg bound. I'm attaching some links about making a laying bin, females and egg laying. Did you mate her?

I didn't mate her, it's just an infertile clutch. I've put her in her big bin and covered that up.

50 eggs is too many eggs! For your girls health and longevity, cut back on her feeding, both amount and frequency. Give her high quality food prey with excellent gut loading and proper supplementation and she'll live a lot longer. 25-30 eggs per clutch would be a good target.
