So im in need of some help. Im new to chameleon parenthood and am trying to make sure my panther gets the absolute best. Its ab 4 mths old and Recently its been acting much different. Not as active, almost lethargic, and not eating. I thought it may have neen calcium issue since we werent dusting like needed so now iys on reptaboost. Seems to help some but not much. a few questions
1. I am not 100% sure of sex. I thought it was a boy but after health concerns and posting on FB i was told it was a girl. Can yall tell?
And 2. I was told it was possible she was egg baron? How can you tell? And should i be concerned ? I have attacjed a few photos.
Any info is greatly appreciated

I am also currently searching for a good reptile vet in my area. So i will be having him/her checked. Just wanted any input until.

100% Female you should offer a laying bin to her at all times. It is hard to tell if she is gravid in the photo but if you post some more from different angles someone will probably be able to tell you. Nice looking girl.

Definitely female. Hard to tell if she's gravid. My female panther rarely looked gravid like female veileds typically do. I could tell by monitoring her weight - she would gain 5-8 grams when gravid. I kept her laying bin in her cage at all times and she would dig and lay whenever she was ready so I didn't have to worry about the timing. That way she is less likely to become egg bound.

Awesome! thank you!!
Now With her being so young is it normal/safe to be gravid? (if she turns out to be) also is it common for them to not eat?

Hey PantherThor,
Your girl looks much older than 4 months, I can't tell age but she looks close to full grown. Listen to ferretinmyshoes get a laying bin into her cage now, and find a vet soon. The dark tail does not look normal either , maybe she fell.
Good luck with her.

That's the other concern. Its only 1/2 of her tail length wise. Maybe you can see in this pic better. Its a straight line down her tail and 1/2 is normal color and other jalf is dark.

UPDATE: i weighed her today and she is 41G. Ive taken a few more pics.

It's very common for a Cham to slow or stop feeding before egg laying. You also might try extra misting, the dark areas on her tail might be an old stuck shed. If it looks like a burn from getting too close to her basking light, you can put some neosporin without pain relief on the affected areas till you find a vet.

Yes, she is much older than 4 months for sure. Likely in the 7-12 month range. Can't add much more than what was said, I hope she lays for you if that's what the issue is!
