Edward G's living wall

I built a living wall for my Veiled Cham Edward G, using other builds on here as a reference. Materials used:

4 x 2' corrugated plastic pannel
4 cans of pond filler Great Stuff
Manzanita branches, and others
1 Red Bromeliad
1 Golden Pothos
1 Orchid
1 Jade Plant
10 different Tillandsias mounted on cork bark.

I made this to go inside of my 4 x 2 x 2' enclosure, and I will post pics of it inside tomorrow. Total cost to make was about $90.

Great job do you have pictures as you built this I am interested to see your process. What you started with to what it is now. I think it is the carpenter in me. Either way you have a artistic mind for how you set that up

A huge tip for anyone making one of these.. Try to apply all of the foam in one session. I used 3 cans the first day, then 24 hrs later I came back with the last can to fill in empty spots. Since the original foam was already dried and solid, the new foam which now filled all the voids started to dry and expand. In some tight spots, the only place it has to go, is to push your plastic panel and warp it from behind. Mine has some minor warping, it might be fixable by securing the corners and sides to the cage with wire, or a few small wood pannels and screwing it to the cage frame.

No all the pots are stuck in there. I left the orchid inside the cup it came in though, so that slips right out.

Very nice, currently doing something similar. Quick question, have any of you considered egg crate light diffuser for living walls? It's lightweight, easy to cut, and has holes to easily fasten all sorts of stuff to(pots, branches, bark, etc).

Yup, was trying to think of a good living wall base for so long that i gave up on the idea, then remembered using it in my reef tanks and was like wellll that'll make things easy. The foam doesn't warp it either because it expands through the open squares and then can just be sliced off.

Yea that's probably better than the plastic which doesnt take the pressure from the foam hardening very well..​

Well looks like you did a great job! I like the look of the black foam actually, have you ever considered sticking eco earth or moss to it by chance? I'm planning on it, but not sure how it's going to turn out.

I was about to do it, but was scared over time it would mold or degrade. I've seen them done with spagnum moss and eco earth on here and they look really nice. Just not sure how easy to clean and how they would do over time.
