I have noticed sometimes when I let my chams out, they can get themselves in high up, like on a windowsil, or someother odd places and not move until I rescue them.
Happend the other day! Smeagol was on top my Noogie's cage and would not budge. He actually got on my hand willingly
and I took him back to his own cage.
I noticed he was so weak, he could not climb the screen at all, so I helped him in and put him under his basking light to recharge his "batteries"
It made me think about the times in the past when I thought he was being stuborn and not wanting to go home from being let out.
It was because of weakness! his battery had simply run down!!
So, now I always wait until they have finished basking in the morning before letting them out. Depending on their body weight, I am starting to get a good feel for how long I can let them out and away from their heat source before they run out of gas
Unless you put up some heat "recharging" stations along the way, this is something I think should be kept in mind when free ranging your cham.
