Eating grape vine bark!??

My 9 month panther enjoys climbing around on our grapevines outside, I try to take him out for an hour every day, the last 2 times Iv takken him out Iv noticed hes eating only the bark off of the vines! I also notice him trying to chew on the branches in his cage! Dose Anyone elses chameleon do this and can It harm him? Iv done some research and from what I gathered the vines are not toxic. He seemed to enjoy it so much that he got vary angery when i tryed to get him to quit!?

sometimes they will chew and bite on things and I don't think there is a definite reason why. If you are in doubt that it could harm him then I wold not take the chance. My chameleon used to chew on a resin(plastic) tail of a toucan bird I have hanging out in my tiki bar. It was the strangest thing. He could never get a piece off of it but would clamp down on it very hard. He doesn't do it anymore though! I used to take the bird down when I would let him climb around out there
