had mine "chew" on everything for the first few months, not sure why, but he would also chew on the black zipties tor his vines..hungry or not...then he slowly stopped dooing it...i offerd him veggies, but he just wanted to chew dead stuff or odd things like plastic, or tree bark..just remove all the dead stuff and anything he will try and chew on..the ficus should be fine(my cham is still ok , its been almost a year since then)..
sounds like mine too..the tasting with a tap of the toungue is normal (territory taste) and is for marking their "chill spot"..but sounds normal to me, mine did the same, i was constantly pulling stuff away from him..made him more friendly at least tho from all the attention..
That is normal all my male panthers+my male minor does this,
Also one my ambilobes who is 5/6 months old eats dead leaves from the pothos, quite a lot.
