early bedtime

I've noticed the past few days that my 4 month old panther has been going to his routine bed-spot 2-3 hours before the lights shut off. He doesn't sleep, but he curls up like he is about to sleep.

I'm guessing it could be due to the previous owner having him on a different schedule than me so maybe he's still getting used to my timing.

Aside from that he's healthy. Temps and humidity are good, he's eating, and very active.

I hand-mist 2-3 times per day and he stays very well hydrated.

Any ideas?

Mine will sometimes go to his usual sleeping branch about an hour before the lights go off.

Does your cham shut his eyes or anything, or just move to that spot?

mine also finds a spot 2 or 3 hours before bed often.. he never closes his eyes until the lights turn out though.. on occasion though he will find a spot early... then move to a new spot.. but yeah. same basic thing. i think its fine.

Mine do the same thing always turn in early. Some of that I think is because I run longer daylight hours in the summer. Makes it pretty inconvenient when I have to hand feed one and don't have time in the morning :( He gets really upset if I disturb him in his sleeping spot and will abandon it for a night...but he will be back in his favorite spot tomorrow

One of my males does the same thing, he goes to his sleeping spot like 2 or 3 hours early and just sits there with his eyes open

My panther does this every night. Glad this seems to be the norm as I thought it was odd.

My veiled is spiderman until the lights actually go off though.

my female is in her "spot" from 1-4 hours in advance, and the male around 30mins-2 hours to be in his "spot" all my chams have prepared for bedtime..usually just the babies are crawling around till the lights totally go off..

How long has he been on your schedule? is it just the past few days? If it's more than a week then he's used to yours.........
