dustings

hi im wondering what kind and how much dusting should i put on crickets and other bugs for a rudis cham

Up to around six months old I would dust with plain calcium every day at one feeding. Calcium with D3 once a month if you have them under great lighting.

This is what I follow with mine. My insects are fed a homemade gut load and get fresh greens and vegetables.

Less frequent. They can go to every other day or so until mature. Once females reach breeding age and are bred go back to daily dustings.

I use no multivitamins. I prefer to offer a vitamin and mineral packed gutload to the insects.

can you please elaborate on what foods you use for gut load

Sure. Things like dried dandelion greens, almond flour, coconut powder, alfalfa powder, barley grass powder, kelp powder, spirulina, bee pollen, dried honey, brewers yeast, hemp powder, dried orange peel, dried lemon peel, turmeric powder, dill seed powder, fennel seed powder, whole egg powder, rice flour, dried milk, pumpkin seeds, dried carrots, dried kale, dried veggie mix and Miner all 0 calcium supppliment from Sticky Tongue Farms.

All of the above that isn't already a powder is ground as fine as I can get it. Everything is mixed together. I keep out enough to last a week or so and freeze the rest. I feed this daily. I also offer fresh fruits and veggies usually daily.
