Dusting Schedules?

I was just wondering what dusting schedules you guys use for panthers and what you guys think about mine. Here is mine for my 3 month old Nosy Be:

Every Mon.-Tue.: Repashy SuperCal NoD

Every Wed.: Dinofuel (Original Formula)

Every Thurs.-Sat.: Repashy SuperCal NoD

1st & 3rd Sunday of the month: Repashy SuperCal HyD

2nd Sunday of the month: Reptivite w/o D3

4th Sunday of the month: Herptivite

I suggest that how you dust should depend on the type of feeder prey you are offering, and how you gutload, among other things, rather than per a set schedule.

I dont bother with schedules anymore.

My guys get well gutloaded cricks and roaches.

I sort of have a feel for what suppliments they NEED at a specific time and
depending on the prey item.

I use plain calcium, Repashy Calcium+ as needed and everyone gets a
multi-vitamin every few months :D

I believe the only time you really need a good schedule for suppliments is
when you know in advance your chams will NOT be getting those nutrients
other ways (sun, feeder veriety, good gutloading, etc.) :)

That's why they call them 'suppliment' ;)

I have kind of playing it by ear as well his fist week since at first his appetite was a bit irregular and since I had to leave him over the weekend. But I try to keep it loosely based on that schedule.

Do you know how he was fed and supplimented before you got him?

You need to find out from the breeder (seller) what they did on a regular
basis.

Main reason I like to buy animals from a member who breeds them because
they love chams, not for the $$
More likely to get an animal that has already been pampered and handled :D

He was from kammers so I assume Calcium Plus. I'm just not too into the concept of an all in one that isn't formulated specifically for chameleons.

I have to admit, my gutload has been lacking. I have only been keeping several dozens of crickets at a time and I have just been giving them a piece of papaya, potato, or celery, etc to keep them hydrated. However, I have just started sprinkling Dinofuel on whatever I throw in there.

Have u tried Repashy Superload??
I wet some kale leaves (so it sticks) and use a cheap salt shaker filled
with the stuff and sprinkle some on.
The cricks go crazy over the stuff

I almost got some with all my dusts but I was trying to keep costs down a little. I saw that it has a lot of Vitamin A in it. I think if I started guy loading with that, I'd stop using both Reptivite and Heprtivite and just use Herptivite since the super load will supply the A. In that case I guess Ill stick to using the dinfuel to dust.I also like that you don't have to 'cook' SuperLoad like bug burger. Which is a pain and kind of gross.

Does the kale alone contain enough moisture to hydrate the crickets? Also, exactly how heavily do you apply the SuperLoad to the kale? Maybe a pic would help. Just an idea, I bet the bug burger with both Dinofuel and SuperLoad mixed in would be awesome stuff, assuming it doesn't disrupt it's consistency.

Kale should only be offered in moderation. It is moderately high in oxalic acid and is considered goitrogenic.
It does NOT contain vitamin A, it contains Pro-vitamin A (i.e. beta carotene) which many creatures then convert into Vitmamin A. It is not clear how well chameleons do this, if at all, nor do we really know which bugs do this. That's why some people (especially those who do not provide a wide range of prey choices) choose to add a little prE-formed vitamin A (i.e. retinol) to the diet or supplement schedule.

I was referring to Repashy SuperLoad containing preformed A. Also, isn't spinach also very high in oxalic acid?
