Dull colours

So I have had my cham for about a month now and have only once seen him colourful. 90% of the time he is just dull browns and blues. I don't know what is wrong to make him be like this. Would it be his cage size or setup? He is 5.5 months.

Your opinions please!

Most of it sounds normal. But what do you mean by 'Humidity 30s'? You mean 30%? That would be less than half of what is required. Please clarify.

some just take longer to get color. At 5 months mine was an ugly duckling and look at him now. Thats him in my avatar! Patience my friend, patience!

very rarely during the day and every night when he sleeps. If you look at my photo album he is mostly green with red or dark maroon bars. Those are his fired up colors. He is a nice lime green pretty much all the time. He was a dull grey/brown for quite awhile and then all of the sudden he was green one day!

Romeo is a blue bar and a red bar?

Yes he looks great, even when not fired up. But the pics of him not fired up are still very bright in comparison. I will post a pic of him in the morning

He looks a lot like mine when He is in His cage but when I handle Him He shows lime Greens, Reds, Yellow, sky Blue I don't get it either although I upgraded My UVB Tube to Arcadia T5 12% D3+ with reflector He is showing more colour's in His cage now, Maybe He's just soaking up UVB, He looks like a nice healthy Chameleon though.

Is this worth doing? I already have the Arcadia reflector but I'm using a 5% bulb.

He looks great for 5.5 months old! Just give him another 6 months and compare him to that pic, you'll see a huge difference! They take a while to get their colours through, usually around a year, developing their adult colours at around 18 months. Be patient, he will be a good looking boy. :D

It's not a must but a lot of people recommend it here in the UK But Your Chameleon looks fine and is only young as Benton says He has a lot of time to develop.

in my experience I have had 2 really dull colored veileds & one was about a year or so old & we went away & had a sitter come in & he got really upset & his colors popped & they have been very bright ever since the same thing happened again but it didn't take over a year for the 2nd one maybe 8 mos so be patient

He is very good looking for only 5.5 months, patience and he will pop for you eventually. Oh and your not giving the vitamins and d3 at the same time right? Because they kind of cancel each other out when you do that, or so i've heard.

I have been giving the multivitamin and calcium with d3 together so that's good info, I will do them on separate days now.

He can be colourful, and it's not that he isn't, he just doesn't show it.. The only time he decided to colour up I took a pic as it was such an occasion lol
