Dubias wont eat

I recently purchased Dubia Roaches for the first time and I've tried to gutload them but they wont eat! So far I've tried squash and lettuce.

Is there something in particular these guys like?

They just all huddle together under the egg carton!

When it's dark they will come out and eat anything in sight.

They didn't eat anything over night though? They litterally all huddle together and don't move. It's so annoying. My hoppers eat anything in sight!

Tra to keep them in a warm (and dark) place. They feel better in "hot" temperatures. Mabe their appetite will come back. I keep them at about 82 F.

How warm is the dubia bin? I put a pile of squash and carrot shavings in my bin yesterday at 6am and the entire pile was gone by 8:15am when i fed my chams. It was 1/2 of a medium size squash and 4 small carrots shredded with a potato peeler. Also, how big is your colony?
The floor of my bin gets to about 95 degrees F.

mine would make a whole orange dissapear over night, all but the rhine. They wont turn down oranges it is their favorite food.

forgot to add they are more of a fruit species not a vegtable species.

mine just love Cheerios and oranges... regular Cheerios, carrots, dates, cellery and corn flakes

i feel very iffy on all of those gutloads in one batch for one insect. are dates even good for chameleon intake? i know you're talking about the prune things and not the cookies lol, but i've never heard anything about using that as a gutload

I agreed the temp needs to be 95 to 100, they need at least 3 or 4 eggs crates, more if you have lots of roaches. I use an under tank heater and a heat emitter above mine. Mine are in a 100 gal glass aquarium.

I will write up my recipe for frozen gutload. It is easy, I make a month's worth at a time and my roaches are very juicy and well gutloaded.

Gutload directions put everything listed throughout a food processor, mix it all together, add water so it is a mush, not dry, and put in some bee pollen Put it in ice cube trays and freeze, use as needed.

sweet potato peeled
oranges
canalope peeled
squash most any kind peeled
carrots
apples
green beans - fresh

as many kinds of greens as you can get include
collard greens
mustard greens
turnip greens
kale
beet greens
dandelion greens

my roaches eat 4 or 5 cubes a day

Room temp probably wont work. You need to get some kind of heat for the bottom of the bin like a cheap heating pad that does not have the autoshutoff or a under tank heater but if you use that you need to put some foil tape between the plastic and the heatpad unless you are keeping them in a glass tank. Same thing if you use heat tape. this is a good setup tutorial.

Well I've got a heat mat I can use. Will they die if they are not kept warm?

if they wont eat, they gonna die! so heat em up! on 90 they are doing well.

the dates are first thing to go when i put them in there, they absolutly love them

Gonna heat them up when I get in from work =D

i can usually hear them scurrying around after I put veggies in. I have noticed that with the heat and fresh veggies they breed pretty quickly. Take away one or the other and you will notice a slow down. Another by product of putting fresh veggies along with water crystals is keeping their humidity up. They need that also to breed. I bought one of those little decorative pumpkins from teh grocery store for a buck and my dubias ate it up overnight!!! Just throwing that out there

OMG these animals are hard. I put in fresh food and upped the temps and kept them dark and still nothing!! They don't move.

you should touch or poke one of them to make sure they are alive. Roaches should eat almost anything. That is how they survive. We were just telling you the stuff to make them healthy for your cham. I am starting to wonder about your roaches. Good luck, and let us know.
