Dubias a GO!

So I was so afraid by all the posts I've seen about chams rejecting dubias that I finally let Stanley have one of the few dubias I currently have (That has been properly gutloaded for those who saw an earlier post by me) and that thing didn't last 12 seconds! Makes me feel better about the 75 I just ordered :)

RIGHT?! lol he SEARCHED for that guy.. went straight for him... I'm so relieved... Before I was trying to grow the colony with some improper food for chams (Getting the colony to develop faster) so now I have to clear the systems of the few I have and start to gut load the ones that should be coming tomorrow... I've got them heated now so hopefully my colony will be set up within the month :) Until then though... Smelly, loud, nasty crickets /:

ahhhaha XD wtf 0.0 it sounds like my hornworms are trying to ecape XD ya well only noisy if you hafve the males =p only stinky if they die XD and I do agree though... they are nasty XD I noticed bigger their enclosure... longer they live. I was putting them in that cricket carier that had the 4 black tubes.... but that was awful id always lose like plenty at a time. Sooo I bought a shoebox tubaware thing put them in there with some soil some toilet paper rolls and food and sponge they are lasting alot longer! no baby crickets though..... I do moist often but I think im probably not keeping it hot enough. I only purchase 75-100 at a time.

yea from what I've heard you need at LEAST 500 to get a good chance... IDK why though /: I've got mine in a huge rubbermaid tube with bunch of egg crates and great gut load so I have no idea why mine die... Hm who knows... The more I get into my cham the more feeders I try so I figure by a few months I wont even consider crickets lol!

Ive read somewheres in the forums that egg crates suck because they just pile on one another and just die there.... in your big tub did you cut out some holes and applied screen for better ventalation? I know thats a big key factor too. lol I am the same way.... First it was just crickets then mealworms then super worms then hornworms now Silkworms and Praying mantis! geez.... I cant wait til my praying mantis egg case hatches....... I know when it does hatch I will be in a franctic XD
