Dry Food Gutloading for my Roaches

I have been Gutloading my Roaches with chopped Apple & Butternut, sometimes with a little Chicken Mash. I have tried Spinach & Orange which they ignore. I have a Dry Food Recipe: Corn Flakes, Dry Cat Food, Weetbix, Instant Oatmeal, Dragon Pellets & a bit of Reptile Calcium. This is put into a Blender then stored in a Shallow Tupperware Container. I dust my Roaches with Calcium so should I leave the Calcium out? Also is this a sufficient Diet or should I sometimes feed the Apple & Butternut? I have a Damp Sponge in a jar lid in their Bucket which they get their water from. Looking forward to your reply. My Veiled Chameleon is 7 months old, seems very healthy, I put him out in the sun every morning, mist the Foliage twice then he goes into his quiet room at 11.30. He has a Nap until 2.15pm then outside again & I mist once again. He has his second feed at 3.30 pm. Sleeps with a thin Blanket over the top & down the sides plus an Electric Heating Pad on top on low Temp. @ 4 pm. I could not tame him, tried when he was 2 months old he prefers to be left alone in his cage. They are so intelligent, he knows his routine. I live on the Coast in Durban South Africa. His cage is completely Nylon Mesh. Ruchris

You really should not use any form of dog or cat food due to the protein levels. These cause the roaches to build up high uric acid levels which is really bad for a chameleon.

Per heat at night this is not recommended at all unless temps are below 50 degrees F.

Here is a gutload and feeder sheet below for you. And please see this link for correct husbandry for your Veiled. https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/

Thank you so much for your advice on the Protein in dry cat food.

Same with "fish flakes". Very high in protein.

A cheap ingredient is alfalfa Feed. You have to look a little, since some have vitamins and minerals, I tend to find the "treats" are just alfalfa. But then you can get a 20 pound bag for waaaaay less than dry dog/cat food. Mr goat is not getting "pet" food prices at the feed store.
