dripper

I have my dripper set up now in my cage set up to drip once every second. Right now I have it dripping on the umbrella plant leaves and falling into a container on the bottom.

The water builds up on the leaves until it gets to heavy and falls off into the container. So of the water though is running down the stem of the umbrella plant into the planter. Is the water running down the plant going to be an issue?

Only if your planter is going to stay sogging, it will kill the plant. Make extra drain holes in the planter. The other thing you could do is put in a potho (ivy) and attach the runners to the side of the cage. Have the drip run off the leaves into the catch pan. ;)

is it glass or pvc floor? if its plastic maybe drill drain holes & put the container underneath. this way you dont have to open the door every time you wanna emtpy the container. my little girl loves to lick the water running down the stock of the umbrella. donnas idea of putting extra holes in the planter is a good idea. the plant is staying healthy because the extra drainage lets the soil dry fairly quickly.
