Drinking sources...?

Hi All,

Took Fitch to the vets today and through discussion she mentioned a waterfall as a drinking source, im sure ive read some negative stuff on these - what is everyones views?

At present we are misting his tank 2-3 times a day so he is getting droplets of water off of the leaves :) we have a misting device to fit this week! Fitch is being a bit of a grump now as he's been pestered most of today with the vet visit and new plastic plants / vines being added!

Another question for you all occasionally we find Fitch walking about the bottom of the tank - he's still green in colour and humidity and temp levels seem fine. could there be any reason for this?

Thanks in advance if you respond,
laura :)

You are correct. Waterfalls are a breeding ground for bacteria. You will find dead feeders and poop in there. I have used them some years ago but am now educated.LOL Have you tried silkworms they are very hydrating. You could also set up a dripper for a few hrs a day. Why the vet visit?:)

was just a general check up as we just recently purchased him, making sure he was healthy and no parasites :)

the plan would have been to renew the water daily.

i used to use one with that mentality... but i got lazy it got gross i got a mistking hahah... they are hands down the best. it makes automated hydration easy. and you dont have to worry about your cham drinking crummy water because its always fresh. check em out here www.mistking.com

Waterfalls= no.

as for him on the bottom, if hes just down there walking and he goes back up, hes more than likely just exploring, they do that.
if he stays down there, or starts to look stressed or sick is when you have a problem.

what size cage is he in?
