Drainage help/thought?

Hello everyone, my name is Brandon. New member...but not necessarily new to the forum as I've been using this site as the staple of my research for a couple weeks now, lol. So first off, thank everyone for your wealth of knowledge.

My question concerns draining. Has anyone tried a single hold in the center, then sanded (more around the hole, and less as you moved outward) the PVC, or whatever you happened to be using, to give the bottom a tapered effect toward the center from all directions? It just seemed like a good idea, and maybe I've overlooked the attempts (or failures, lol) that have been posted already. I mean, at least no water would go anywhere but the center...and pooling should definitely be minimal, especially after a plant was placed on a stand over the hole.

Feedback would be most appreciated, and would most certainly aide in the construction of the home for my soon to be baby panther =)

Thanks!

Most of the members that have the pvc bottom on their cages just drill a few holes in the bottom and let the weight of the plant cause the pvc to bend slightly. No need for sanding. :)

I actually did that with the bottom of the new enclosure i'm working on, taking the edge of of the holes do seem to provide less resistance for the water. I just took some sand paper rolled it into a cone shape and sanded the edges a little bit.

I think it all really depends on how much weight you have on the bottom and how much that causes the floor to curve.
