so i'm curious. anyone here been to/goes to Dragon*Con in Atlanta? i've been going the past 3 years. this year, i decided to cosplay with my best friend and her husband. i went as a templar from assassin's creed (unfortunately, i got a lot of people doing monty python references to me haha). it's probably one of my favorite things to do on a yearly basis! i've already started on my costume for next year :)

anyone else?? if not, what do you do on a yearly basis that you look forward to the entire year?

that sounds like alot of fun! sadly, my bf and me arent allowed to go far from the city anymore because anytime we do, our cars break down..so no roadtrips for us for awhile :( otherwise, id love to go!

that sucks! your cars should give a special allowance for it!!!

i just realized i should have posted a pic of my costume :p

I LIVE for Caribbean carnival and I try and get to 3 or 4 every summer. I’ve been saving my pennies so it’s will either be Trinidad Carnival or Crop Over in Barbados for 2013.

I attended my first ComicCon this year and loved it. I’m not a huge sci-fi fan (in fact I finally saw the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time ever last week) but it was really neat to see the people in costume, the art and generalized dedication to nerdiness that goes along with it. I had a great time. Next year I will definitely go in costume, not sure what yet but probably something out of Hitchhikers Guide. I like your costume although I probably would have said Ni to you myself.

Cheers!

hey Trace :)

yeah.. got that a couple times.. after the first couple days of the con, i got kinda used to the references to the other movies.. it's amazing how many different places that that outfit was used (monty python, assassin's creed, etc). i HIGHLY recommend dressing up in costume! i've been a bystander too and dressing up is a COMPLETELY different experience.. if you liked Comiccon, i think you'd really like dragoncon too! dragoncon is a fan based con as opposed to comiccon who is run by companies. there are only 2 employees that are actually paid at dragoncon and everyone else are volunteers.. it just gives off more of a "we're celebrating nerd-dom and everyone" rather than games and media.. :)
