DOLPHIN watchers in Florida got more than they bargained for when one of the friendly mammals jumped into their boat and landed on a woman.
Jo Anne Loak got a shock when the 295kg dolphin came straight at her while she and friends were watching the animals jump alongside the boat near Marco Island - about 300km south of Tampa Bay, myFOXtampabay.com reported today.
"It was enormous," she said. "It was horrifying, like, this is not really happening."
Ms Loak ended up with a sprained ankle when the dolphin landed on her foot.
Emergency services were called and 10 men were needed to lift the dolphin, which suffered a gashed flipper, back into the water.
