Dog food for Reptiles

Hello,
Its been a while since I've been on here, I have a question. my Berber skink got loose for about a week, he didn't eat that I know of in that time. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a dog food, to get some fat back on him. I was looking at Wellness Brand's CORE line The chicken & Beef cenned wet food.
Okay now for a story. So Fez (My skink) got loose on a saterday, during a birthday party we were having for a cousin. My three cousin's and their father who were all present are TERRIFIED of Reptiles. So I looked for him but couldn't find. So I didn't tell anyone, cause I didn;t want it to be a scene. Fez is upstairs and noone but me went up there so Everything was fine. So a few days go by and I looked EVERYWHERE for him. My uncle lives with me and he is also TERRIFIED of Reptiles (though he works in a pet store I don't get it) He knows alot about them he just hates them. So anyway. I looked everywhere and couldn't find him. Thursday morning I woke up to find a white hamper next to my bed. and Inside is Fez. Well I put him back and go downstairs to find out. My uncle comes in the door a few moments later. He is livid his face is all red and stuff, so come to find out, He woke up at about 5:00 to use the bathroom, so when he got back into bed (which has a heated matress pad) he felt so,ething in the covers, He didn't think anything of it, his 1 yr old daughter puts toys into the bed all the time. He tries to move it and It dosn't move. So He picks up the covers and is trying to figure out what toy it is. So he turns the light on, and there's Fez sleeping away under the covers in his bed with him his wife and his daughter! I was laughing so hard. It was hilarious. Just thoguht you all would appreciate that.

I really dont know much about nutrition for skinks at all, but be careful, wellness CORE is like 50% protein or something crazy like that.

From what I understand, cat food is nutritionally better for skinks than dog food. Dog food is full of a lot of fillers, rice, cereal, ect.

Read the labels to see how much vitamin A is in them. Cats in particular can't make their own and its included in the food...and it can build up in a reptile's system.

I actually work at a high end pet supply that specializes in holistic health for cats and dogs. We carry natural foods without fillers, by products, or allergens.

That being said, I actually know quite a bit about dog and cat food. I would suggest skipping cat food and sticking to wet dog food. The Core would be fine in moderation, but if you want to be on the safe side, try Merrick's "Grammy's Pot Pie". I have used this for my formerly scrawny savannah monitor and it was great. I know that our local reptile place (which is actually a very good store) suggests it as well.
