Does the hood matter?

I bought a reptisun t5 ho 5.0 24 watt 22” uvb bulb for my enclosure but I was wondering can I use say an aquarium hood or does it also have to be a reptisun 24” t5 hood? Because those are quite hard to come across at least in my area

it has to be a "T5HO" hood. Any T5HO hood. If you have a 36" hood, and some diy, you can still use it. But you cant use a 24" T8" hood. I normally find the T5HO in the fish section of local shops.

If you use an aquarium hood remove the plastic shield below the lights as it will block UVB.

Those work? If so that’s very useful cuz my local shops have not had the reptisun hoods in for months at least not for t5 only t8s but I wasn’t sure if aquarium holds worked or not

Im running a reptisun 5.0 T5HO in a zoomed T5HO aquarium hood right now, with a zoomed "ultra sun" fresh water light for the 2nd bulb.

You don't need a "hood" at all—any T5HO fixture should do.
